Clients First Means Success, Says Intellectual Property Law Firm Brinks Gilson & Lione, Celebrating Its Centennial

CHICAGO—Brinks Gilson & Lione—the Midwest's largest Intellectual Property law firm—celebrated its 100th year in business with a reception for clients and friends in Chicago on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

Brinks welcomed more than 200 guests at the open house reception, including corporate executives, general counsel and IP counsel, as well as colleagues in intellectual property legal practice and firm alumni. IP professionals came from the across the country, Canada, China, England and Japan to join the celebration.

“Brinks clearly wouldn’t be where it is today without our clients,” said James R. Sobieraj, an IP litigator who joined the firm in 1982 and has served as its president since 2012. “Putting clients first is Brinks' overriding objective, and this event allows us to recognize and thank our clients for being partners in our success.”

Gus Siller, a patent litigator and shareholder who will become Brinks’ new president on January 1, 2018, added, “As Brinks celebrates its centennial year, we want to remind our clients that as they continue to innovate, they can also continue to count on Brinks to advance their interests as intellectual property owners. Brinks' event was attended by members of the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), including its president, Matthew Willis, who recognized Brinks’ milestone and many years of partnering with the ACC to provide training and advice to legal professionals at Chicago-area companies.
