Patent Prosecution Legal Secretary

Brinks Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, is seeking an experienced patent prosecution legal secretary to join our Indianapolis office.

Candidates must be experienced in:

  • Preparing, filing and the prosecution of patent applications in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign patent applications; and other miscellaneous filings in connection with United States patent applications.
  • Compiling correspondence, and preparing and updating reports and presentations.
  • Working with cross-department, cross-office and cross-divisional colleagues.

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Relevant patent and/or trademark experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant legal secretarial or legal administrative experience is preferred.
  • Must be independent, pro-active, and self-motivated.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, colleagues, local and global administrative staff and key contacts internal and external to the company.
  • Demonstrates advanced proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

This role is based in our Indianapolis office, but Brinks will consider candidates based in Chicago or a remote-work arrangement depending on the candidate’s qualifications.
