Brinks is "an elite IP player in which total trust can be placed," Says IAM Patent 1000
June 17, 2020

CHICAGO—Intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione “remains an elite IP player in which total trust can be placed by companies looking to procure, enforce and monetise patents,” according to Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine’s annual guide to the world’s leading private practice patent professionals and firms, the IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals.

The recently released ninth edition of IAM Patent 1000 again recognized Brinks in the Silver Band for patent litigation and as a Recommended firm for patent prosecution in Illinois.

Joseph Hetz and Andrew Stover were recognized again this year with IAM holding them as “[t]he heart and soul of the prosecution practice in Chicago…Stover sees around corners and shines at long-term patent family construction; while Hetz has a talent for putting IP rights to work commercially – the patents he secures are often lucratively licensed.”

On the litigation side, Chicago attorneys Laura Lydigsen and James Sobieraj were again recognized this year and Mark Remus, chair of the firm’s litigation practice, was also ranked. “Sobieraj has an ‘even-keeled demeanour,’” said IAM, “owing partly to his ‘vast experience in patent litigation and profound knowledge.’” IAM went on to praise Lydigsen and Remus for their battle-hardened litigation and appellate strategy, citing their inherent ability to “settle nerves with tight game plans and pristine records…The abundant appellate expertise they bring to the practice gives their trial wins an air of finality.”
