Attorneys Frick, Frohling, Kappers To Present Webinar on International Trademark Strategies

CHICAGO—Joshua S. Frick, Susan Frohling, and Emily Kappers, trademark attorneys at intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione, will host the webinar “International Trademark Searching and Filing Strategies for a Global Economy” on April 4, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. CDT.

Frick, Frohling, and Kappers, members of Brinks’ trademark and unfair competition practice group, will discuss the hypothetical global launch of a new product, and will offer recommendations for communicating with a marketing team, strategies for conducting clearance searches, and tips for when and where to file trademark applications.

Shareholder Josh Frick is a strong advocate for client brands, handling all aspects of trademark and copyright protection, including prosecution, portfolio management, transactions, and litigation. As a litigator, he has represented clients in federal court actions and in cancellation and opposition proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Frick’s prosecution and counseling practice includes developing and maintaining domestic and international trademark portfolios, drafting clearance opinions, and assisting clients in creating enforcement programs.

Susan Frohling, former chief trademark counsel at Kraft Foods, has extensive experience counseling marketers, strategy teams, and senior executives on a wide range of trademark, right of publicity, and copyright matters, including global and domestic clearance, brand strategy and protection, litigation strategy, licensing, and IP issues in social media.

Emily Kappers focuses her practice on trademark, trade dress, unfair competition, and copyright law. Her counseling practice includes trademark and copyright prosecution and enforcement; her litigation experience includes motion practice in federal district courts and Uniform Name Dispute Resolution Policy proceedings before the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.
