Jerome Gilson Named One of the World's "Best of the Best 2009" in Trademark Law

CHICAGO - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, is pleased to announce that name shareholder Jerome Gilson has been chosen one of the world's top 25 experts in the field of trademark law by Expert Guides: Best of the Best 2009.

Mr. Gilson has practiced trademark and unfair competition law in the United States for more than 45 years. He has handled numerous trials and appeals before the United States Patent and Trademark Office Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the federal courts, and has written and spoken widely on his specialty. He has received numerous awards and other professional recognitions, but is perhaps best known nationally and internationally as the original author of a leading treatise in the field, Gilson on Trademarks (LexisNexis/Matthew Bender) (supplemented three times annually) (1974-2006) (formerly Trademark Protection and Practice).

Mr. Gilson was inducted into the IP Hall of Fame in 2007, and was ranked as the top trademark practitioner in the world by Managing Intellectual Property in 1998. Additionally, Mr. Gilson has been named a leading intellectual property lawyer by Leading Lawyers Network, International Who's Who of Trademark Lawyers, Illinois Super Lawyers and Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business.
