Fifteen Attorneys at IP Law Firm Brinks Gilson & Lione Recognized in The Best Lawyers in America 2018, Three Named "Lawyer of the Year"

CHICAGO—Fifteen attorneys at Brinks Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, have been selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2018.

Eleven of the honored attorneys are based in Brinks’ Chicago office; one each is based in Ann Arbor, Mich., Research Triangle Park, N.C., Washington, D.C., and Tampa, Fla.

Three Brinks attorneys received “Lawyer of the Year” recognition in their respective geographical and legal practice areas:
 
Allen Baum was named the Best Lawyers 2018 Biotechnology Law "Lawyer of the Year" in Raleigh. He has 25 years of experience as a patent attorney and is the managing shareholder of Brinks’ Research Triangle Park office.

William Frankel was recognized by Best Lawyers as the 2018 Copyright Law "Lawyer of the Year" in Chicago. He has practiced intellectual property law for nearly four decades and is the chair of Brinks' copyright practice group.

Steven Oberholtzer received the Best Lawyers 2018 Patent Law "Lawyer of the Year" award in Ann Arbor. He has more than 35 years of experience as an intellectual property attorney, and has particular expertise in intellectual property legal issues related to the automotive industry. Oberholtzer is the managing shareholder of Brinks' office in Ann Arbor.
