Brinks Litigator Miller Named to Top 50 Women Illinois Super Lawyers for 2013
CHICAGO—Laura Beth Miller, an attorney and shareholder at the Chicago office of intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione and chair of the firm's International Trade Commission (ITC) practice group, has been listed in the Top 50 Women Illinois Super Lawyers.
Ms. Miller's listing in the Top 50: 2013 Women Illinois Super Lawyers means that she received the highest point totals in the Illinois nomination, research, and blue ribbon review process. She has been selected by Super Lawyers in the category of intellectual property litigation every year since 2005; this is the fourth time she has been named to the Top 50: Women Illinois Super Lawyers.
A member of Brinks' litigation practice group, Miller is a skilled trial attorney with experience not only in intellectual property law but also in antitrust and commercial litigation. She focuses her practice on district court litigation, particularly in the “rocket dockets”—courts known for their speedy disposition of cases—and proceedings at the ITC. Ms. Miller's non-litigation experience includes counseling clients in trade secret protection, trademark clearance and use, patent and copyright protection, and antitrust and licensing matters. Her industry experience spans broad areas of technology including electrical, computer, Internet, chemistry, biotechnology, and mechanical arts.
In addition to representing major Fortune 500 companies in patent and trademark matters, Ms. Miller is an adjunct professor at The John Marshall Law School. She is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Illinois, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as numerous federal courts.
