Brinks Gilson & Lione Patent Prosecutors Weiss, Parrish Chair Track on 3D Printing Innovations at MD&M Conference
CHICAGO—Keith D. Weiss, Ph.D., and Daniel Parrish, patent prosecutors at intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione, will chair a full-day conference track at the 2016 Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) Conference, “Creating the Total Solution—Value Engineering to Deliver Clinical & Economic Outcomes,” on September 22, 2016 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Weiss and Parrish will deliver opening remarks for the technical session “Process Innovations in 3D Printing for Nex-Gen Medical Devices.” The track will culminate in a panel discussion—“Can 3D Printing Really Be Used to Make Medical Devices?”—for which Dr. Weiss will serve as a panelist. He will discuss how medical device companies can integrate new materials and processes into their design progression, balance design considerations with manufacturing necessities, and address issues of repeatability, reliability, and consistency.
Dr. Weiss focuses his practice on patent prosecution and intellectual property agreements, with an emphasis on IP portfolio planning, development, and management. He has experience with advanced materials, applications, and equipment used in the automotive, aerospace, coatings, plastics, and microelectronic fabrication industries. His two decades in corporate research and development led to him being listed as an inventor on more than 30 U.S. patents.
Mr. Parrish draws on his six years of experience as a biomedical engineer to serve clients with patent prosecution, opinion work, and all phases of trial practice. He works with global companies to protect innovations relating to medical devices, aerospace designs, and computer software.
Medical Design & Manufacturing Minneapolis, now in its 22nd year, is a gathering of more than 5,000 professionals and more than 600 suppliers and manufacturers. The event seeks to facilitate solutions, education, and partnerships in the medtech industry. More information is at http://mdmminn.mddionline.com/
