Brinks Gilson & Lione Attorneys Participate in the 2016 LESI Annual Conference in Beijing, China
Brinks Gilson & Lione President James Sobieraj opened the 2016 Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) Annual Conference in Beijing, China on Monday, May 16. As the LESI president, Sobieraj gave the welcoming remarks to the 500 members from 34 countries attending the conference. LESI is an association of 33 national and regional member societies. It focuses on expanding knowledge and understanding of intellectual property issues around the globe, and given China’s increasingly dynamic role in the world economy, it was particularly appropriate that the 2016 LESI Annual Conference was held in Beijing, China this year.
Also participating in the educational seminars were Brinks’ ITC Practice Group chair, Lyle Vander Schaaf, and Brinks’ attorney, Elizabeth Chien-Hale. Mr. Vander Schaaf moderated a panel entitled U.S. Litigation for Chinese Strategies: Strategies for Successful Results, while Ms. Chien-Hale participated in a panel discussion on the Importance of Intellectual Property and Innovation for the Emerging Nations’ Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.
