Published By Chicago Daily Law Bulletin November 08, 2017

CHICAGO—Brinks Gilson & Lione shareholder and patent litigator Laura A. Lydigsen has been recognized as one of 40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch on Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s 18th annual list.

Law Bulletin solicits nominations from lawyers throughout Illinois to gain comprehensive insight into peers’ and colleagues’ individual law practices, to determine which young lawyers in Illinois deserve recognition. Lydigsen was chosen for the 40 Under 40 list from a pool of 1,400 nominations of lawyers across the state of Illinois this year.

“Laura has developed a reputation for appellate expertise in the field of intellectual property law,” said one of her nominators. “She gives her time extensively to the community and is also an extremely talented and effective attorney.”

Currently chairperson of Brinks' appellate practice group, Lydigsen focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation at both the district court and appellate level, including representing pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in Hatch-Waxman litigation. She has been involved in all stages of appeals before the Federal Circuit across a wide range of technologies, and served as a chair of various committees in the Federal Circuit Bar Association since 2011, including the Rules and Amicus Committees. She is frequently asked to speak on intellectual property and patent law.

Lydigsen maintains a strong focus on community outreach and involvement. From 2013 to 2016, she coached the intellectual property law moot court teams for Loyola University School of Law, and has worked pro bono to assist a U.S. veteran and a widow of a U.S. veteran in appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Attorneys recognized by Chicago Daily Law Bulletin 40 Under 40 list are selected based on their dedication to their practice, career achievements, advancements in their field, and community outreach and involvement. More information is at http://www.chicagolawbulletin.com/40-Attorneys-Under-40.
