From batteries and fuel cells to drug delivery and synthetic chemistry, Bashir Ali has helped clients obtain more than 200 U.S. patents. With both a Ph.D. and a B.S. in chemistry, Bashir has a firm grasp of the most complex chemical and pharmaceutical innovations, and the patent prosecution experience to get them to market. He provides prosecution services and prepares opinions on validity, non-infringement and freedom-to-operate issues.
In addition to his work in the U.S. patent system, Bashir regularly works with Brinks, Gilson & Lione’s foreign associates to prosecute patents throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
Bashir believes in thinking forward to help clients explore their potential end goals and prepare for a wide range of possibilities. He focuses on using patent strategies to achieve key business objectives.
Bashir has managed patent portfolios for small- to large-sized pharmaceutical and chemical companies involving up to 50 families of cases in more than 20 countries.
He has written numerous validity and non-infringement opinions.
As a scientist, Bashir worked for a fuel-cell technology start-up and for one of the world’s largest Fortune 500 household products companies.
